Safety Evaluation of Nuclear Transmission Lines Using Fuzzy Relations
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper, we deal with the performance evaluation of transmission lines of nuclear installations. We argue that the traditional assessment process based on a single parameter is inappropriate. Instead, it should take several related factors like isolation damage, rust, resistance change etc. into account to determine the degradation degree of a transmission line properly. Therefore, we regard the safety analysis of transmission lines as a comprehensive evaluation process associated with multiple parameters. Another feature of the process is the di culty in quantifying the involved parameters due to existence of the subjective judges in determining the degradation degree and the su cient knowledge about the evaluation parameters. In view of these di culties, fuzzy set method, specifically use of fuzzy relations and linguistic expressions, can provide an approximate but e cient performance descriptions of a transmission line. With the known linguistic expressions, Bellman and Zadeh's original fuzzy decision model is employed for the nal evaluation. Sometimes we should consider di erent parameters unequally. For instance, the resistance change is the most important factor whereas the rust is relatively less important when we pay attention to the consideration of protection from re of a transmission line. In this situation, we assign the di erent weight for the di erent parameter, depending on the importance. The corresponding method is from Yager's multiple objectives decision model. In this way, we get a systematic evaluation model while taking into account multiple parameters and the subjectivity as well. keywords: fuzzy relations; fuzzy decision making; safety evaluation of transmission lines; linguistic expressions.

Abstract Introduction Vulnerability is the limitation of a society to a risk and to dominate it for all physical, economic, social and political factors, which adversely affects the ability of the community to respond to those events. An earthquake is a natural phenomenon that will be irreversibly damaged. It has caused severe humanitarian earthquakes in the minds of a compilation of an infra...

Probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) which plays a crucial role in risk evaluation is a quantitative approach intended to demonstrate how a nuclear reactor meets the safety margins as part of the licensing process. Despite PSA merits, some shortcomings associated with the final results exist. Conventional PSA uses crisp values to represent the failure probabilities of basic events. This causes...

Reactive power dispatch for voltage profile modification has been of interest Abstract to powerr utilities. Usually local bus voltages can be altered by changing generator voltages, reactive shunts, ULTC transformers and SVCs. Determination of optimum values for control parameters, however, is not simple for modern power system networks. Heuristic and rather intelligent algorithms have to be so...
